HIGH NOTE 'CHARLOTTE SWEET' A SHOWCASE FOR VOICES -
a charming show... What is most
impressive about [this production] is the fact that Performance Circle and director - choreographer Stephen Locklear would attempt - and succeed with - such a challenging and artistically deceiving show. This one's a toughie. ...[the cast] shimmer throughout the tiny Burton Park stage and probably all the way down into Gig Harbor a couple of miles away. Oh, and kudos... Gordon Koestler, Pierce County

TUNEFUL 'CHARLOTTE SWEET' SPARKLES ON PC STAGE -
...the entire cast excels... an energetic,
tuneful treat for young and old alike. Staging by director - choreographer Stephen Locklear is charming... Do expect plenty of talent and pure fun. Barbara Felver, Gateway

The Performance Circle's production of Charlotte Sweet is wonderful. And I can't help
but think that the
show's author would have thoroughly enjoyed himself. ...anyone who appreciates excellent acting and singing won't be [disappointed]. Combine excellent singing with superior acting, costumes, and set and you have a local production that should not be missed. Shiers, Port Orchard

...a delightful mixture of good singing, trite
melodrama and burlesque humor makes this another
sterling
production.... lively, spirited and colorful... Dorian Smith, The News

NOTE: Because of the overwhelmingly positive
reaction to this production, lyrisist Michael Colby contacted
the production team and planned a trip out to see it. However, because of complications with a planned New York revival of CHARLOTTE SWEET he was unable to make the trip. Thus the referance in the Port Orchard Independent review above. |
